The data must be wrong, there's no way the UDA would do this to us. I can't sleep, I keep running the numbers, reading the files... All this time, after years of research... wasted. How many have died back on Earth due to this cover up? Our one chance at colonizing a new planet, properly... People back home are dying of hunger, while the UDA line their pockets.
I should have known they'd betray us, all they care about is money! Billions of us, stuck back on Earth, hoping for a better life. And they squandered it to balance their books?! I never fully trusted the UDA, and after seeing what the Group is capable of... I was a fool to return to Icarus. But THEY were fools to bring me back.
There must be a way to fix this, this can't be a coincidence. I've found this data for a reason. I owe it to humanity to save them. I still can't sleep, I can't get this idea out of my head. What if there was a way to restart it? Those enzymes back at the lab... It must be fate, they've been left there for me to use.
I thought I was past this pain, it would appear that I can trust no one. The lies, the manipulations of those right at the top. It's insanity. How do I know my team aren't in on it? I can't tell them, they'll try to stop me. They'll brush it off as a trauma response, they'll call me crazy. Maybe I am. I don't care about anything but revenge right now.
I must do what needs to be done. Humanity is owed it. The UDA must pay. There's no way around this, I'll be branded as a lunatic for even trying it. No one will understand, not even Iris. I'm sorry, but I have to make this right. No matter who gets in my way, I WILL terraform Icarus and SAVE MY PEOPLE. And I don't care who has to die to make it happen.

Letter adressed to Mr Berlinski: Dear Sol, I write with a weight I can hardly bear. Mo is gone. She fell in the line of duty, and though they'll dress it in the language of reports and commendations, I can't bring myself to speak of her in such cold terms with you. She fought until her last breath, not for orders or objectives, but for us - for the people beside her and the future she still believed in. There was no fear in her, only that quiet strength you know so well. Even in her final moments, she carried herself with a steadiness that reminded us all who we were following. You were her anchor beyond the battlefield, her reminder of home and of who she was outside the uniform. She spoke of you often, sometimes in small ways, sometimes with a softness that Icarus could never strip from her. I thought you should know that when the end came, she was not alone - she was surrounded by those who cared, and her name was carried with reverence. I'm so sorry, Sol. For the world's loss, and for yours. With respect and grief, Dr Iris Blake

Journal belonging to Iris Blake: Another day without her, the first time I thought she was dead was hard enough. But finding out she was alive after all that time only to lose her again a few weeks later? I don't know if I'll ever recover from this heartbreak. I miss you Mo. And I'm so so sorry for what we did to you. - The remainder of this entry is smudged with tears -
Journal Entry - Victor The blast was significant, but not instantaneous. There may have been time. She has surprised us before. I would not rule it out. If anyone could improvise an exit under pressure, it would be her. Stranger things have happened in orbit. She knew that satellite better than anyone. If there was a way off, she would have found it. Am I only seeking to assuage my own guilt? Perhaps, but still. There's a chance. A tiny, miniscule chance.
Ration drop's late again. Tinned beans and vitamin paste, that's it? TPS Command says "adapt." Bet they're not eating this shit in orbit.
Torn Page from a Journal: Sometimes I dream of coffee and traffic lights. Woke up today thinking I was back on Earth. Then Hasko screamed about another patrol and I remembered. We chose this-but hell, did we?
Handwritten Letter (Never Sent): I miss your laugh. I miss quiet. Here it's all drills, static, and shouting. They say we fight for the future, but it feels like we're killing the past. I hope you don't see what I've become.
Personal Log - Dario H. UDA doesn't see us as people. Just stats. Still, burning that ACS prospector alive didn't sit right. The radicals call it justice-I call it revenge. Maybe we're becoming what we hated.
TPS cooks are either sadists or out of salt. If I eat one more protein brick, I'll riot. Note: avoid the green ones. Even the dreadwings wouldn't touch them.
TPS Internal Message Log: Command says we'll push south next week. Not all of us are ready-we lost three to a whiteout yesterday. They ignore it. "Glory to the cause," right? I didn't sign up to die of bad logistics.
"UDA stole our homes. TPS stole our peace. No heroes here. Just people too angry to sleep."
They keep calling this a revolution. Feels more like a slow collapse. Hasko said we'll be legends. I just want to go home.
