This species was hunted to near-extinction on earth. and was introduced to Icarus as a means of regenerating their population.
Found In Arid environments, the African Elephant was genetically modified to make them less desirable to poachers. Alterations were made to the structure of their tusks causing them to degrade over time, when separated from the elephant. Effectively halting the ivory trade.
